Applicant
Value Application
Purpose of Grant: To strengthen the Æternity ecosystem via research and education that supports grantees to optimize their projects’ impact.
In short: More features will launch faster.
- Individual teams will have more structured project management in place
- Team leaders will have better communication with the aeternity Foundation
- Teams will be better resourced and the aeternity Foundation will have a more accurate view of resource needs
- Intrateam coordination will be improved
- The aeternity Foundation will have a better view into progress towards strategic goals and better mechanisms for intervening to prioritize projects among teams.
Definition of Terms
Assessment of grantee management processes. Process optimization. Coordinating with teams to launch projects currently in development, specifically: State Channels, AeScan, Middleware, SDK, and Loan. Other projects can be added based on need from the aeternity Foundation
Status Quo
Grantee projects are in various stages of development and working at a level of efficiency that is insufficient for the needs of the aeternity Foundation.
Required Work
Implementation of project infrastructure. Assessment of grantee projects. Team support and change management. Contributions to strategic planning.
- Kick-off +10 days: Report on status of each project, stakeholders, and outlook
- +14 days: Roadmap
- Ongoing: Meetings, infrastructure, and reporting to aeternity Foundation. Releases by project teams.
- Project end: Project report and prognosis for continued releases
Estimate
3 months of full-time work starting March 18, 2024 and concluding June 17, 2024. The first 10 days of the project will be spent onboarding with team leaders and the aeternity Foundation. Other participating grantees will have launched/released updates by the end of the grant period or have a credible estimate of a near-term release.
Known Limitations
It’s possible that additional resources will be needed to support teams or provide support for other grantees to meet objectives.
Outlook
The aeternity Foundation will have a predictable release schedule. Team leaders will feel supported. Teams will better understand their role in the high-level strategy.
Most important: aeternity adoption will increase due to demonstrated progress on key features.
Note: The aeternity Foundation is free to make public any contributions from this project which it sees fit to publish. This project does not concern the direct development of code. Project teams are responsible for code developed indirectly due to this project.
