Hello everyone,
As we kick off the new year, our team remains focused on driving progress and delivering meaningful updates. Here’s a summary of our work over the past two weeks.
Weeks 2-3 (January 6 - January 19, 2025)
Dincho Todorov
We continued ongoing monitoring of migration efforts and worked on core documentation for starting and configuring Hyperchains. The Hyperchain starter kit was updated to the latest node version and cleaned up. Additionally, we updated the Localnet to the latest node, MDW, and Aescan versions, and started working on updates for the HyperChains Demo network.
Mihail Dobrev
We ensured compatibility of recent changes with the HyperChain MDW branch, addressing issues to keep the system stable. A specific fix was implemented to correct a transaction count discrepancy, as detailed here. Additionally, we investigated the possibility of removing the async tasks store to speed up migrations, considering its limited use. We also updated the version of please-release in the MDW GitHub repository to fix changelog issues, later downgrading it due to configuration problems, as seen in this pull request.
Justin Mitchell
We finished integrating child epoch length adjustment. Further work involved changing test cases to support epoch length adjustments, with the slow parent test now functioning correctly. More details can be found here.
Hans Svensson
We participated in the HC meeting in Stockholm, focusing on planning for version 1.0 and beyond. Additionally, we worked on prototyping fork resolution.
Thomas Arts
We participated in meetings and discussions, including a meeting and workshop in Stockholm, to align on key topics and future directions.
Dmytro Lytovchenko
We focused on repairing the failing tests in the holes feature merge request. Progress continued with resolving the last remaining issues, marking the holes feature as ready for merging. Additionally, we began investigating the future fork resolution feature to support upcoming network improvements.
Richard Carlsson
We worked on improving the documentation of the block generator and conductor.
Måns af Klercker
We delivered core documentation on starting and configuring Hyperchains, including a screencast. We also worked on the parent chain connector and pinning.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing further updates as we move ahead!
