Have you guys thought about POS implementation of bitcoin-ng? Waves already has such no?
Why do you guys stick to pow?
There are currently no concrete plans to switch to PoS for leader election.
We have certainly considered PoS but at the moment most PoS variants are either very complex or have fundamental problems. Proof of work gives us liveness for basically free and is much simpler to reason about.

There’s nothing on a technical level that would prevent the Bitcoin protocol from moving to POS. Assuming they could create a fault tolerant implementation of POS, Bitcoin could transition to it. However, the chance of Bitcoin moving to POS is almost none because of the politics of the mining community.
